Remembering "Southampton Joey".......................................................................................
"Joey," was a  True Family Horse; he loved his human family, and they certainly loved him.  Although "Joey," was owned by Cheryl Powell, her husband, David Powell, and their daughter, Heather, took a great deal of pride  in the accomplishments made by "Joey," in the show ring.

"Joey,"
a "B" Division Grulla in color Gelding, began his show career just  three years ago at the 2002 WCMHR World Championship.  Since then, he has been successfully shown in numerous shows by Cheryl and Heather Powell and they have won National Championships with WCMHR and AMHR.
Joey was the 2004 WCMHR World Championship Overall High Point Horse.
"Joey," was successful in everything from leadline to racing!

"Joey," suffered a severe injury from which he could not recover in the Fall of 2004.

His Show Career may have been short, but he rose to the top quickly!

"Joey,"  thoroughly enjoyed the show ring and you could see the fire in his eyes,  but when he was around children, he was gentle as a lamb.  He often visited schools and nursing homes and bought a lot of joy to everyone around him.

"Joey," was the little horse that could and did and we shall all miss him. more about "Joey"
