Showmanship is judged on the Exhibitor's ability to show the horse to its
best advantage to the Judge. The THE SKILLS AND ABILITIES OF THE
EXHIBITOR are judged in this class, not horse. Showmanship classes are
fundamental to showing miniature horses.

Horse -In Showmanship Classes The Horse should be of show quality (good conformation, without lameness, blindness or dwarfism. Clean and well groomed. Braiding of mane and tail not permitted in this class. Horse is not required to be clipped although the ears should be trimmed and there should be a clean throat latch. Most horses have been body clipped. Halter should be clean and in good repair. Mini Express will be a Vendor at the Show should participants need to purchase halters, leads, etc,. |
The Entry Level Showmanship Futurity was Designed
to encourage and showcase the progress of the Entry Level Exhibitors.
Other Entry Level Classes are being considered for a Futurity.
Entry-Level Clases are for those Exhibitors who are showing miniature horses in
a particular type of class for the first or second year . Each year
will be counted as a full year regardless of the number of shows or classes in
which the Exhibitor participated.

Jackie Hooks, of
Little Wonder Horse Farm (right in photo above) conducts the Free Show
Clinic for Exhibitors the evening before the annual WCMHR World Championship.
Show participants have often said that they have learned more from Jackie at the
Clinic than they have anywhere else.
Entry Level Exhibitors also have an opportunity
to observe the techniques of the many Professional Exhibitors and Trainers that
are participants in the Annual WCMHR World Championship each year.
World Class Miniature Horse Registry, Inc. has designed a Futurity Program for Entry Level Exhibitors that will be implemented for the first time at the 2005 WCMHR World Championship. Requirements are as follows:
2005 Requirements
All entries into the Entry Level Showmanship Classes will quality for the First
Futurity without paying a nomination fee.
The Champions and Reserves of these classes will
receive special recognition and will automatically qualify for the 2006 Entry
Level Exhibitor's Classes and their nomination fees will be waived.
There will be a $10 fee for nominations in 2006.
2006 Requirements A and B
Nomination Fee of $10 Awards to be announced.
There will be separate classes for first-year entry level showmanship and second
year entry level showmanship in the adult and youth classes. Youths may be
divided by age.
